Barbera D’Asti DOCG Superiore 2020

£16.75

In particularly favourable years, Garrone produces its real Cru – the Barbera d’Asti DOCG Superiore – from the better exposed vineyard which gives excellent grapes every year.

After a fermentation with high quality yeasts, and ten days maceration, this wine rests for a year, from the 1st of January after the harvest, in a 2700 litre oak barrel. Deep garnet in colour and a floral nose (rosé), this Superiore has fruity notes of cherries, blackberries, and a fig jam, alongside cloves, pepper, and vanilla.

Neeche Comment: “Notice the hieroglyph inspired label, a nod to Dante’s past as a scholar with a passion for the ancient world”
