L’Horloge – AOP Brulhois 2012

£19.00

Le Brulhois is a wine formerly labeled VDQS under the name of Côtes-du-Brulhois, produced in three areas: Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne and a small part of Gers. It became an AOC in 2011 and makes up around 200 hectares. The appellation produces only red and rosé wines

L’Horloge is made from Malbec grapes harvested on the best plots, vinified, and aged entirely in new oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months. It is a wine that impresses with its dark red and deep purple body. Offers a nose rich in aromas. The 1st is of earthy forest floor, blackcurrant, sour cherry, and fruit brandy, followed by a 2nd with hints of liquorice, vanilla, and spices. On the palate you will notice jammy fruits blended in the toastiness of the barrel. It is smooth and well rounded, with silky tannins.

This cuvée L’Horloge can be enjoyed in its second year, but it will be at its finest between its third and fifth.

Neeche Notes: “This fabulous wine is made only in certain very good years with the absolute perfect conditions, this phenomenon is sadly becoming rarer as is this particular wine”
