Riesling Grand Cru Winzenberg 2020

£18.00

Winzenberg from the Latin “vinetum” meaning the mountain planted with vines is a Grand Cru from Bliesnchwiller. Centuries ago this place was specially chosen to produce wine. The rock here is granite, a scintillation of quartz, black and white Mica, and pink Feldspar. An ideal south/south-eastern exposure.

With a deep yellow dress and aromas of violets, this wine is a dry wine whose minerality cuts through the acidity, more noticeable after 3-4 years ageing. Producing a gastronomic Riesling of great finesse.

Neeche Notes: “A fabulous expression of Alsation Riesling made by a man and a friend who is as passionate about winemaking in his homeland as any I’ve met and this certainly comes through in Pierre-Yves’ Winzenberg Grand Cru”
