This Red takes its name from the location of the vineyards in which it grows “Caraconessa”, a Greek name meaning ‘pointed hat’, like the helmets of ancient Greek warriors.

It is made from the grapes of the Gaglioppo and Greco Nero vines native to this area, the “DOC Melissa”. Melissa DOC red wines must contain 75-95% Gaglioppo and 5-25% Greco Nero.

This wine is ruby red in color, has a strong and full-bodied palate, decisive but delicate tannins with just the right amount of astringency bringing to life with every sip the panorama of where its origins.
