Ruchè Di Castagnole DOCG 2021

£15.50

Garrone planted the very first Ruchè vineyard in Grana, thus demonstrating their faith in this wine which is not only very original but so different from other wines of Piedmont. This indigenous grape variety had gone out of fashion but is thankfully beginning to make a comeback in its old homeland.

Ruchè is grown in two Guyot-trained vineyards, one located in Castagnole Monferrato facing south in Grana and the other southeast in Castagnole. This Ruchè has a dried rose and violet nose, but also cerise and blackberry, with a distinctive spicy touch.

Neeche Comment: “Ruchè is a very old grape variety that was nearly lost due to other varieties being more profitable and marketable. A robust grape making a comeback.”
