Rosato – Nerello Mascalese IGT 2022

£18.00

This Rosato is a vibrant cherry-pink or ‘cerasuolo’, offering a soft, round, and persistent palate defined by a discreet volcanic acidity and a surprising edge of silky tannins. On the nose, you’ll find inviting hints of ripe wild berries and crushed cherries, lifted by a delicate note of orange blossom.

Made from 100% Nerello Mascalese, the grapes are carefully hand-picked from the northern slopes of the volcano, sitting 650 metres above sea level in the renowned Calderara district. Here, centuries-old vines grow in mineral-rich volcanic soil, on a tiny ‘heroic’ plot, respecting traditions and a terroir that has been cultivated for generations.

In keeping with the Trio’s philosophy of minimal intervention, this wine has been neither filtered nor clarified, preserving the raw, honest energy of the mountain. It’s a sophisticated soul that lends itself perfectly to aperitifs, fresh cheeses, or grilled white fish.
