Qalatino Nero d’Avolo DOC 2020
£20.00
Qalatino isn’t the jammy, over-extracted Nero d’Avola you might find elsewhere; at Valle delle Ferle, it is a wine of structure and grace.
It is a masterclass in texture and offers a noble tannic structure, opening with generous notes of plum, black cherry, and a hint of sweet violet undergrowth. The tannins are dense but silky, creating a mouthfeel that is both powerful and smooth. This Nero d’Avola thrives in the high-altitude ventilation of the estate, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly and retain a beautiful, refreshing acidity.
It is an honest, deep reflection of the Sicilian land and Caltagirone’s soil, crafted by hand and fermented with indigenous yeasts to preserve every ounce of its native personality.
