Barbera D’Alba DOC Invecchiato In Botte 2018

£22.00

Cascina Albano created its first oak-aged Barbera d’Alba in 2001. From then on it has continuously improved its balance between barrel-infused aromas and the decisive character of the wine. Inspired by the elegance of nature, this oak-finished Barbera d’Alba has delicate notes of vanilla and spices that characterize its uniqueness.

A self-confident and refined wine enhanced through single-variety vinification, giving it freshness and a slight acidity. It is a wine which lasts throughout time and amazes by showing love for tradition and tranquillity.

Dark ruby red in colour with violet hues. The nose is a triumph of ripe fruit, intense aromas of plums and blackberries and spices with notes of cinnamon. Fruity and toasty aromas balance perfectly with notes of vanilla, almond and cocoa. On the palate it is well-rounded and full-bodied, with soft tannins and a lingering finish.

Neeche Comment: “The major factor that distinguishes this Barbera to their other version is that it is aged in barrel ‘Invecchiato In Botte'” which will give a depth and contrast to the one purely aging in Steel tanks. It is really interesting to see the different characteristics of this variety when using different methods of ageing”
