Piemonte DOC Cortese 2021
£13.25
The Garrone Piemonte Doc Cortese is made with grapes from two different vineyards, cordon-trained and spur-pruned, with a north-eastern exposure.
After the harvest, the grapes are immediately pressed and are left to ferment for four or five days with selected yeasts before the aging process.
This Cortese is a straw like yellow and has orange blossom, grapefruit, and banana aromas, with a touch of freshly cut grass, and notes of peach, pear, and thyme.
Neeche Comment: “To help understand the type of wine this is, Cortese is the same grape used to make Gavi di Gavi which is also located in Piedmont, about 60km south of Asti”
